TELSTRA SENDS BILLS TO DEAD LADY
I moved into a Unit where the previous tenant had an account with Telstra.
Sadly she passed away August/September 2011. I obtained the unit at the end of September and obviously moved in early October.
Mail arrived from ANZ and Telstra for the deceased so I addressed both letters back to the sender noting that the lady was deceased. ANZ ceased sending any mail.
Here is what Telstra did:
September Bill Received October: sent back Person Deceased thought that would be the end of it
October Bill Received November: sent back Person Deceased, thinking that they missed the first notice & that would be the end of it.
November Bill Received December: Again sent this back to them with the same message in Permanent marker you could not miss it.
So thinking, or should I say hoping that this would be the end of it HOWEVER
December Bill Received January: Well they have had enough notice and I opened it and I rang them, was told that this would be noted but they could not do anything as I was not authorised to do anything on this account. Informed them that I would make this public as it was not acceptable to send this to a dead person, after they had been advised that she had passed away and obviously did not live here.
As far as I am concerned they know that this person is dead and that I live here, but you guessed it, another bill or letter, this time addressed to The Estate of ............ so I returned that and noted in heavy black ink not known at this address.
And guess what again: The Estate of .......... received so I opened it and here is a bill again for $156.00 which includes a late payment fee of $15.00, how stupid are these people at Telstra to keep billing a dead woman.
5 MONTHS TELSTRA HAS SENT A BILL TO A DEAD LADY, NO WONDER I WOULD NEVER DEAL WITH TELSTRA, TO SAY THEY ARE STUPID IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT.

Well at the end they got the message, no more mail or bills good on you
