Increase in pricing for Less

A Person wrote in to Not Good Enough and said
"I buy a lot of soda water at Coles and when I went in today they had Coles brand 'sparkling water', 2 lires for $1.29. Previously it was Home Brand, 2.25 litres for 1.05. So you now have a 9% increase in price and an 8% reduction in quantity. I've written to Coles."

This is probably happening a lot, and is an example of yet another rip-off from the major supermarkets, If you find anything like this let me know.

  1. Again Snaicoman you are right on the money, have you noticed in the Grocery Juice range that Berri no longer has a 2litre juice now its 2.4litre. Do you think that the price went up by 20% along with the increase in size? NO WAY! The price rise was more like 35%, how can Berri justify this?

  2. Snaicoman, I just visited the Grocerwatch page what an excellent way to compare Coles and Woolworths. I don't think there is another site out there that has such a comparison.

  3. Visited Woolworths at Sandgate Qld yesterday, Golden Delight Potatoes 4kg bag were $1.50 per kg yet the smaller bag of 2kg was $2.49 per kg a premium for buying the smaller bag of 66%. I wish to know why such a huge premium on the smaller bag, from where I see it is price gouging and Woolworths could not care less. Further more they are not really helping the pensioner either and single people as they would prefer not to buy 4kg of potatoes like me. Care to explain Woolworths
