Politics and Facebook!

Having a rare thinking moment and looking at Friends lists of pollies. They are a strange lot, their likes relate to followers of the same persuasion, that is Labor liking Labor, Liberals liking Liberals and so forth. Started thinking how narrow their outlooks must be to be only interested in their own ideologies and not that of the opponent’s views. One of the basic rules in business and war is to know your opponent, and what better way that to follow key people on Facebook. Must be the way my mind works, being a swinging voter, it makes me think on other areas, in that are we so insular in our thoughts that we don’t want to see and learn what other people are talking about and thinking, apparently not. We are a strange people no wonder the state of politics is in such disarray, playing the blame game and not wanting to find common ground or collectively making things better for all. We all share the same air, the same global society, but we don’t wish to share common thoughts or occasions, all we want to do is to criticise. I do my share of the latter, but that is done through purposeful thought and the desire to make everyone’s   lot a better place to be.
