Queensland Public Transport Costs
Well January 1st 2012 has arrived together with
another 15% rise in Public Transport costs in SE Queensland. Anna Bligh’s Government
has increased these costs 32.25% in 2 years, giving the travelling public more
incentive to travel by car thus reducing the patronage of the Public Transport
system, under the ruse of paying for “infrastructure upgrades”. Have you never
heard of depreciation which is supposedly used for providing for future
expenditure, I guess not?
The people who use the transport system are paying now for
total mismanagement of public funds by this Government; they are wasteful, full
of spin (another adaptation of the word lies). Many of these people are in a
captured market group, working in the city, consequently have to travel by
these means due to lack of parking in the city and near surrounds, consequently
have no other alternative but to use public transport. Pensioners and others on
fixed incomes will now find it more difficult to find the money to travel to
their appointments, or to just enjoy a day out.
I noticed that Brisbane has now one of the highest costs for
public transport in THE WORLD (Courier Mail - Most expensive transport in the world), and we are the smart state? There is a business
term which relates to the law of diminishing returns, basically the more you
raise prices the less people buy, consequently in the end you end up with the
most expensive service which no one uses and they are well in the way to
achieving this state. Less people will use it, except those who need it most
and who call least afford it.
My opinion of this Government is that it has to go, it is
wasteful, full of spin (Lies) and incompetent. Traveston Dam, Queensland
Health, are just a couple of items of incompetence that come to mind. Your arrogant, unrealistic and have lost
respect of this writer!
